What is DORA?

The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) was introduced to address several key challenges and risks associated with the increasing digitalization of the financial sector. DORA aims to strengthen the sector's ability to prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents.

Infront's Mission

Infront aims to assist customers in achieving compliance. As Infront acts as an external ICT service provider for its customers in the financial sector, we are setting up a DORA project to be able to provide our customers with optimum support.

DORA Regulation in a nutshell

The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) aims to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework to ensure the operational resilience of financial entities in the European Union. Here are the five pillars of DORA:

  • ICT Risk Management: Financial entities must have robust ICT (Information and Communication Technology) risk management frameworks to manage and mitigate potential risks to their digital operational resilience.
  • Incident Reporting: Financial entities must develop procedures for reporting major ICT-related incidents.
  • Digital Operational Resilience Testing: Entities must regularly test their ICT systems, protocols, and policies to ensure they can withstand and recover from disruptions.
  • Third-Party Risk Management: Financial institutions must have measures in place to manage risks associated with third-party ICT service providers.
  • Information Sharing: DORA encourages financial entities to share information related to cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
